As part of the Alberta Open Data Summit 2016, the Edmonton Public Library is hosting an unconference event to provide participants with a practical outlet for the energy and ideas generated in the first day of the summit as well as an opportunity to build new skills. This event is free and open to all summit registrants.

When: Saturday, October 15, 2015 from 9 am to 5 pm.
Where: Centennial Room and Edmonton Room (basement), Stanley A. Milner Library, 7 Churchill Square.
Who: Open data stakeholders in Alberta: government employees, academics and science researchers, businesses, non-profits, artists, journalists, and citizens.
Why: To discuss your ideas, work through a project, solve a problem or host a panel with other open data enthusiasts.

There will be a catered coffee break in the morning and afternoon. Please see suggested lunch locations in the area.

The Unconference Kick-off will take place in the Edmonton Room (basement) where participants will have a chance to pitch their ideas and to provide a brief background on topics proposed in the planning document (found below).

Each room will have a laptop with internet access connected to a projector. Participants are encouraged to bring their own device(s) as Wi-Fi will be enabled all unconference spaces.
